15 Jan Blakes Hotel Chelsea London
Getting in to photograph probably one of the most exclusive hotels in London was a real treat. Blakes Hotel is a 5 star event where all the rock stars stay. I don’t think they do actually but it is frequented by Gwen Paltrow, Sarah Ferguson and Kate Moss which is good enough for me. It is only a small hotel in a back street of Chelsea with 40 or so rooms. The Hotel has been designed and established by the film star Anouska Hempel. She is not just a pretty face but an interior designer and one that is ranked in the top 100 in the world.
My clients Strada provided the architectural ironmongery throughout the hotel. This is an exclusive affair and my time here is strictly limited which is understandable. Personally I am used to the Premier Inn or occassionally a four star for special events, so I was very interested how the exclusive few enjoy theirs stays in London. I couldn’t get over how dark the place was and I wasn’t granted much time to light the areas I wanted to photograph, but here are a few shots anyway captured during my couple of hours at the hotel.
