Ynysyfro Reservoir House Scott Brownrigg Architects

This photographic commission is not quite commercial property but nevertheless Scott Brownrigg, architects for this fabulous project are certainly more often commissioned for very large projects. The residential property is newly constructed in-between two reservoirs near Newport, South Wales and the architects are hoping to win some awards.

The sun was shining on a very cold day in January when we went to the Ynysyfro Reservoir in South Wales. Early in the morning it was -5 degrees and extremely cold but an ideal day to capture a few images for Scott Brownrigg. This is part of their submission for this years RIBA Awards. Still photographs were actually to priority here but I couldn’t resist capturing some video footage, the location and setting for the Reservoir House is absolutely fantastic. The reservoir was partly frozen over with ducks standing on the lake rather than swimming in it!

Property based video is becoming increasingly requested and commissioned. This provides more engaging content for Case Studies which are commonly only viewed on-line. As part of a conventional photographic commission the addition of video, virtual tours and/ or elevated mast photography are all most cost effective.
