27 Mar Radisson Blu Hotel Bristol
Slightly different this time for Commercial Property Photography we were actually commissioned to photograph the Radisson Blu Hotel by Hermeta, the Dutch Cladding Manufacturer for the Hotel.
The building is not entirely new having formerly been the Bristol and West Tower, the old head office for the Bristol and West Building Society. The original building was partially demolished and what remained was stripped back to the core structure. The tower was retained which was converted into SAS Radisson Blu, a 176 bed luxury hotel. The Radisson is the tallest hotel in Bristol according to their website The building was awarded ‘Highly Commended’ by the RICS Regeneration Award South West in 2011 and is featured in Mike Jenner’s book ‘Bristol’s 100 Best Buildings’.
The cladding on the tower is glass comprising different colour grades of blue which are designed to ease the tall tower in to the sky. Designed locally by architects Atkins Walters and Webster (AWW) featuring the case study on their website.
